Discovering the cultural heritage of the Mação territory
Mação is a municipality in the Santarém District in the central region of Portugal. In Mação territory, there have been old and unused water structures for decades.
The Water Memories (MEMÓRIAS DA ÁGUA) project organised by the Museum of Prehistoric and Sacred Art of the Tagus Valley of Mação with the Senior University coordinated by the Municipality of Mação, Portugal, reveals through a series of unique images the oldest fountains, water mines and aqueducts in the entire territory. The goal of this project is to contribute to a better understanding of Mação territory and its cultural heritage.
In 2019, I had a great opportunity to work with a specialised team from the Museum of Prehistoric and Sacred Art of the Tagus Valley of Mação and also to meet beautiful people from the whole municipality. Working on this project, I discovered the wonderful heritage of Mação. It was a real joy to meet beautiful people and to see old and charming places.

WATER MEMORIES EXHIBITION
The City of Mação was hosting the MEMÓRIAS DA ÁGUA exhibition on Saturday, January 11th 2020. The exhibition was opened at the Gallery of the Elvino Pereira Cultural Center in Mação, in the Auditorium. It was a captivating photo exhibition about water, which invited the exhibition visitors on a journey to discover Water Memories. I made all the photographs presented in this exciting exhibition with all the beautiful people I photographed, the students of the Senior University of Mação.
